Sunday 28 December 2008. Part of Excursions.
On a regular base ADA organises excursions to interesting and important exhibitions in The Netherlands and abroad. The first excursion was to the very first edition of the Brussels Biennial. The organisation had invited eight European institutes for contemporary art to curate a part of the exhibition. One of the locations is a former sorting center of the national postal service, next to one of the main train stations of the city. This is an example on how the organisation took an architectural concept of Modernity as a starting point to question its own position in the self pro-claimed capital of Europe. By inviting different institutions, the Biennial strived to mirror the complex network of interrelated institutions that together form contemporary European society.
